Pressed Penny Collection | Part Seven

The final part – seven – of my Pressed Penny Collection is over on YouTube (don’t forget to subscribe to my channel!)

If you’ve been following along, I hope you’ve enjoyed this series of videos that I made. I hope to collect lots more pennies on our next trip to Orlando, so will add a new video later on in the year.

Our pressed pennies are mainly from Walt Disney World, but we also have them from other Florida attractions, including: Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, and Kennedy Space Center.

Pressed pennies are one of the cheapest souvenirs you can get at Walt Disney World, and at pretty much all of the other theme parks and attractions in Florida (and around the world too, a friend of mine has a huge collection of pressed pennies!)

The majority of the machines in the theme parks in Florida are 51¢ – two quarters (25¢)  plus the 1¢ coin that is going to be pressed. We always make sure we have a stack of pennies, and a stash of quarters to use in the pressed penny machines. The machines have 3 to 4 designs each, some are hand-crank which are fun to use, and others, you just push the button to make the mechanism start. There are also pressed quarter machines – those use, I think from memory, $1.25 per coin. They are bit fewer and farther between though. You just put your coins in the slot, and watch as your penny gets squished and embossed with your chosen design.

You can find all of the pressed penny machine locations at Walt Disney World on this website here.

Do you collect pressed pennies? Let me know in the comments!
