Day 6 of Hibiscus & Holly At The Poly 2017, the latest of my Disney Trip Reports, is here! Today we visited Disney Springs and had lunch at Planet Hollywood; followed by an evening at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party including Holiday Wishes, and Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade!
The Trip Report Index tells you a bit about the planning of this trip, as well as some info about me and my family (the Cast Members!) In short you have me, Michelle; Steve, my husband, and Liam, my son. It also, of course, has the full list of days for Hibiscus & Holly At The Poly 2017.

My trip reports are photo heavy! I include single images, or smaller galleries – either way, pages may take a little longer to load depending on your internet connection speed. You can click on gallery images to enlarge them. I don’t include all the photos I take, but you will be able to find all of the images from Hibiscus & Holly At The Poly 2017 in my Flickr Collection of albums from this trip. To see just today’s extra photos, you can view this Flickr Album.

Some days are split into several parts; please use the page numbers at the bottom of the post to continue reading.
There were only two thing’s on today’s agenda: Disney Springs for lunch at Planet Hollywood, then Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) in the evening. These were both firsts for us, and we were particularly excited about MVMCP!
Our reservation at Planet Hollywood was around 1pm, so we didn’t surface until late that morning.
The weather was several degrees warmer today: 24°C compared with 17°C yesterday – which was so nice. Although it did turn rather chilly in the evening.
The weather in particular threw me completely off kilter on this trip. We are so used to roaring heat, high humidity, and lots of sunshine – and wearing as minimal clothing as possible! So to be decked out in jumpers, coats (and more!) while at Walt Disney World was so strange. As we entered our second week we were back in our usual Orlando attire.
In short, pack for all weather when coming in December as it changes a LOT!
We were a bit early for our ADR, so we took a bit of a wander around. I still can’t believe how much Disney Springs has changed from the old Downtown Disney. The older section really looks out of place now – I wonder if they’ll spruce that up too?
Priority of course was to see all the Christmas decorations – starting with the huge Christmas tree which was very pretty with huge swags of gold tinsel, gold and silver baubles – including some that looked very much like jewellery, and topped off with a sparkling silver star.
(There is also the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail, which we came back to look at on another day.)
Some of the decor had a steam punk type of vibe to it which was pretty cool, and some was more traditional. I particularly liked the penguins (as they’re one of my favourite animals!) and the bejewelled reindeer which were gorgeous.
I’m still trying to figure out what these peanut reindeer with pasta bows and cereal hoop eyes are all about!!
We popped into World of Disney and had a quick look in a few shops before heading back to Planet Hollywood.
