If you are headed to Walt Disney World over the next few months be prepared to Awaken Summer with an incredible lineup of new attractions and experiences that will debut this summer across all four Walt Disney World theme parks and beyond! There is so much to tell you, so I’m breaking the news down into parts, starting with The Most Magical Place On Earth – Magic Kingdom!
Out with the old…
I remember the first time I watched the Dream Along With Mickey show in front of Cinderella Castle on our first trip to Walt Disney World in 2011, I cried my eyes out! I was so overwhelmed with joy at being there: it was a dream come true! I cried just as much when I watched a stream of the final show online. The songs from that show were my family’s anthem for our holidays to Orlando, and I am so sad that I will never be able to watch it live on stage ever again. It sounds silly to cry about a Mouse and his pals singing, but that’s what songs can do to me! And I know I wasn’t the only one crying!
I wanted to give you that backstory there, because Dream Along With Mickey was one of my absolute favourite things about Magic Kingdom… but Walt Disney always said he wanted things to move along and change, and times are a-changing with a brand new show coming to the park. I’m sure I’m going to love it just as much, but my favourite will always hold fond memories in my heart. ♥
All New “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” Show Brings Joyful Celebration to Walt Disney World Resort
Joining the lineup of unparalleled Walt Disney World Resort entertainment, “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” will immerse guests in a royal musical celebration set to debut this summer on the Cinderella Castle stage at Magic Kingdom Park.
Mickey Mouse and his pals unite in a tale of friendship featuring songs and characters from Disney’s contemporary classics “Princess and the Frog,” “Tangled” and “Frozen.”
From the land of the bewitching bayous, Goofy has invited Princess Tiana, Naveen and Louis to add a little spice of New Orleans jazz to the party. Donald Duck brings some new friends he met in the land of the enchanted woods, where Daisy Duck introduces us to her special guests, Rapunzel and Flynn. Finally, Mickey Mouse shares a surprise with Minnie Mouse, as he has traveled to the land of the mystic mountains to invite Olaf, Princess Anna, and Queen Elsa, who swirls a blast of her icy magic.
The celebration culminates in a grand dance, marked by a magical fireworks finale. “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” will be presented multiple times daily.
A New Princess Is Welcomed To Disney Parks
Elena of Avalor, Inspired by Diverse Latin Cultures, Will First Be Introduced on Disney Channel
The inspiring story of Elena of Avalor will be shared in 33 languages in 163 countries on Disney Channels worldwide. And, Disney Parks, where universally enchanting stories come to life every day, will be the place where families can see Disney’s newest princess in person. At Walt Disney World Resort, Elena will appear in the Magic Kingdom. The Disney Princesses at Walt Disney World Resort will welcome Elena in August.
Kids and families worldwide will be enchanted by the story of Princess Elena, a bold, caring, funny and clever 16-year old who is ascendant to the throne in the fairytale kingdom of Avalor. The series follows the story of Elena, who saves her kingdom from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule with the support of her appointed Grand Council and some magical friends by her side. Elena’s adventures will lead her to understand that her new role requires thoughtfulness, resilience and compassion, the traits of all truly great leaders, while highlighting the importance of family and family traditions.
